The local VFW disbanded here. The hall is rented out for family reunions and other like functions. I had read that as the older generation of veterens pass that the younger generations of vets are not as interested in this organization so it is growing smaller and smaller with more and more posts disbanding.

I just looked it up, 1/2 of national VFW members are WWII veterans, age is their enemy!
The local Moose recently built a new building, it seems to be doing fine. The American Legion has its own gold course so its doing fine. Both seem to be bucking national trends.
The local VFW here is on a lot that used to be the Miniature Golf place back in the early 80's. I don't think they have the little windmill out front any more though.
