Second-cousin twice-removed Dave, my friend who used to work in a jewelry store, and myself went shopping Saturday afternoon for an engagement ring for Dave to give to his fiancee.The conversation in the car went like this:
Jim: Davie, have you set a date?
Dave: Seattle.
This exchange prompted a very puzzled look from my friend -- but those of you who've grow accustomed to dave-speak should have know immediately that they are planning the wedding for next Valentine's Day.
