Hmmm, didn't know what they were called. I'll just be glad to see more of them so the X'ers in the huge SUVs can learn to stay in their lane and out of mine.

Cat's Eyes (first photo) are not as common in the US., Stimsonite markers or reflectors (second photo) are more likely to be used. In Illinois, they have to gouge a little hole to put them in so the snow plows do not eat them.
I've been calling them "turtles" ever since I first heard my then-roommate Scott call them that 10 years ago.

I've always called them turtles too. Drive down the road running over the turtles...
These aren't near as bad as the rumblestrips in the breakdown lane.
The beginning of wisdom is calling things by their right name. Om.
