A religious mystery?

St. Clare of Assisi -- born July 16, 1194, died August 11, 1253 -- founded the Order of Poor Ladies, a monastic religious order for women commonly referred to today as the Poor Clares.

In 1958, she was declared by Pius XII to be the Patron Saint of Television.

1253 - nun dies.
1941 - commercial TV begins in U.S.

The connection between the two would be?

One miracle attributed to Clare during her life was a vision she had of a Mass she was too ill to attend in person. The vision appeared on the wall of her cell.
