Child seats are supposed to face to the rear.
Rear seat entertainment centers also face to the rear.
So your kid can be safe but really annoyed, or entertained but in peril.
Then we stopped for snowcones.

I just thought of a new product to market - mirrors that slip over the rear seat so those carseated little kids can watch omeN gnidniF on the way to Grandma's house.
They face to the rear up to 20 lbs or when they outgrow an infant seat. Most kids reach these milestones around 14-18 months.
That's right around the time kids really become restless in a car anyways.
Either way, snowcones are delicious no matter which way you sit.
