BERLIN (Reuters) - Police in Germany arrested a shoplifter who filled his trousers with 39 tubes of toothpaste, authorities in the western town of Dueren said on Wednesday.
Police said store detectives in a supermarket chased the 37-year-old Uzbek after they saw him stuff the tubes into his pants, and forced him to hand over his booty.
"As far as I know, it was back on the shelves soon after," a police spokesman said.

It fights cavities, but smells a little funky!

ReplyDeletePhoenix -- I wondered the same thing -- they will now have to start putting the toothpaste behind the counter with all the cough syrup and cold pills -- but what could you make from toothpaste?????
...Or really bad breath maybe.

ReplyDeleteYeah, no kidding! I could probably get about two tubes in there; by the third one, the first two would be falling out the bottom of my pant legs.
ReplyDeleteit is a truly odd story, why toothpaste, and why 39 tubes -- and why on earth would they put them back on the shelf after they had been in some guys pants --
ReplyDeleteI just tried using big dog biscuits -- you could get maybe four tubes in each front pants pocket, and three in each back pants pocket, leaving 25 tubes to stuff in you underwear (no, I didn't try that) -- even if the buldges were not noticed you would think his pants would have fallen down from the weight -- one tube weights 8oz on the postage scale, so 312 ozs or 19.5 pounds
My coworkers are starting to wonder what I'm laughing so loudly about :)
